My favorite gifts…cameras!
The holiday season is coming at us quickly and I know the struggle that gift-giving can present. One of my favorite gifts to give is a CAMERA! Shocking, I know. I really do feel that a camera is one of the best gifts for kids, teens, and adults alike.
Now don’t worry, these are all consumer-friendly point and shoot cameras that are easy to use! And I know our phones can take a great photo, but the cameras below offer something more. Whether it be a filmy vibe, shooting underwater, or being kid-friendly (and not so expensive that you will cry if they break).
So here are a few of my favorite cameras that I hope will make for a meaningful gift, and one that keeps on giving!

Paper Shoot Camera - https://papershootcamera.com
Great for teens and adults who love a vintage vibe! This digital camera takes photos that look like film but live on a memory card. The cameras can be customized and there are so many great accessories to chose from. They even sell a ring light that attached to the lens. There is no display screen which I really like. I feel more present when using this camera vs my phone.
Switch between color, black & white, sepia, and blue tones on camera
You can swap out cases to update the look
Function cards allow filters, videos, and double exposure
2. Kidamento - https://kidamento.com
(Photos taken by my seven year old)
Great for kids who are interested in photography and love printing photos. Model P prints black and white photos right from the camera and they offer sticker film! My daughter loves printing photos out and sticking them in her memory books.
The camera is freakin’ cute
Film rolls are much cheaper than other instaprint cameras
The activity book is a great way to keep kids busy and make some memories
3. GoPro Hero Series - https://gopro.com/en/us
This is a camera for the whole family! It is durable and rugged so you can trust the kids with it, AND you can take it underwater which makes pool days even better! This camera attaches to selfie sticks, helmets, dashboards and so much more. And it is tiny so you can take it anywhere!
It’s (almost) impossible to break
So many accessories to customize your camera
Has creative features like video, time lapse, and wide angle photos
4. Dylan Kids Selfie Camera - Link here
(Photos taken by my four year old)
This is the perfect camera for young kiddos who don’t know how to handle with care. The quality of the photos is lower, but it is a great way to introduce the idea of photography to a kiddo without handing over that expensive phone!
Rechargeable battery
Fun stickers and borders
Rubber casing to avoid bumps
5. Vtech KidiZoom Camera - Link here
(Photos taken by my 4 year old)
Another great option for those younger kiddos. This camera does have games which can be a pro or a con depending on what you want. It has a larger and clearer screen than the other kids’ camera and larger hand holds.
Takes photo and video
Has up to 4x zoom
Includes extra features like games, stickers, and borders
I hope you found these suggestions helpful! There is nothing more magical than seeing the world through someone else’s eyes. I hope you treat someone, or yourself, to a camera this year!
